Comprehensive Eye Examinations
When was the last time you got your eye checked? To keep your eyes happy and healthy, it’s important to stay on top of your comprehensive eye examinations. We recommend getting a comprehensive eye exam at least every 2 years.
Thanks to our expert optometrists and state-of-the-art equipment, we ensure your eyes get the high-quality treatment they deserve.
Why get a comprehensive eye exam?
Did you know that more than 50% of sight loss is preventable? We rely on our eyes and vision for daily living, making healthy eyes an essential part of your overall health and wellbeing. Regular eye exams ensure that any problems are detected as early as possible so that proper treatment can be put in place. With many sight-threatening conditions displaying no symptoms in their early stages, regular eye exams enable us to act to prevent or limit any potential sight loss or damage. They also help in making sure your prescription is up to date so you can see as clearly as possible and enjoy a high-quality life.
What to expect during your eye exam
At our Fort Wayne location, our eye examinations for glasses usually last about 15 to 20 minutes. If we choose to dilate your eyes, the exam will last approximately 45 minutes. A standard eye exam consists of retinal pictures, pressure testing, a prescription for glasses, and an ocular health assessment. We test for all eye health issues including but not limited to: cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. To gain an in-depth view of the back of your eye (the retina), we rely on retinal photography. If you require an OCT scan, you can use your medical insurance or pay yourself.
At our Warsaw location, an eye examination lasts 20 minutes. A standard eye test includes pressure testing, a prescription for glasses, and an ocular health assessment. Please note that it does not include retinal photography.
Vision and medical plans
In addition to vision plans, we also accept medical plans at our Fort Wayne location. We also do routine eye care as well as medical visits.
